The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow and ice across Essex this weekend.
On Saturday, a band of rain, sleet and snow will spread east across the area on during the morning.
Two to four centimetres of snow are likely across the country in places above 200m - mainly over Wales and the moors of South-West England, with the risk of temporary local accumulations to low levels. Icy patches may form, especially on untreated surfaces.
The public should be aware of the risk of some difficult driving conditions.
The sleety conditions will end by Sunday, with rain replacing the freezing conditions and warmer temperatures.
