A LORRY diver killed in a crash on the A12 on Sunday has been named as Andy Mason.

Mr Mason, who worked for haulage company Visbeen Transport, was killed following a collision on the London-bound carriage of the A12 near Chelmsford at 4.45pm.

The fatal collision left the road closed well into Sunday night.

The company, who have offices all over Europe, paid tribute to Mr Mason on its Facebook page.

A statement read: “It is with much regret and great sadness that we must report the grave news that our colleague Andy Mason has died as a result of a road traffic accident in the United Kingdom.

“Andy was part of our organisation working as an experienced international driver. He was a very respected, professional and conscientious driver who was always available to his work and colleagues.”

The driver of the other lorry was sent to Broomfield Hospital as a precaution.
