A TEENAGER escaped serious injury when her car was forced off a country road and into a tree.

Alice Close, 17, was on her way home from Ingatestone along Stock Lane when a speeding car coming from the other direction forced her off the road, leaving her in spin.

The teenager, who lives in Ramsden Bellhouse, suffered a bang to the head after hitting a tree on Friday, May 15.

The incident left Alice, who has only been driving since October, feeling sick.

Alice, a trainee beauty therapist, said: “The other driver was far too close to me and made me turn off the road and start spinning.

“Then she just sped off and left me there. She was going way too fast.”

Alice said the car was a black Ford and was being driven by a woman.

She’s yet to find out if her white Vauxhall Corse is a write-off after suffering damage to the front end of the car.

She said: “When I came off the road and started spinning I just closed my eyes and started screaming.

“When I opened them I was in the field. I’m OK but have felt sick ever since after I banged my head.”

A police spokeswoman said officers were investigating the incident and would ask any witnesses to contact Essex Police on 101.
