YOBS nearly ruined a championship competition and awards ceremony for 150 children by gluing the door to their activity centre shut.
The founder of the Recoil Trampoline Club, Trisha Sharpe, 51, discovered the damaged door when she tried to open up for the event at the Trampoline & Activity Centre, in Great Warley, on Sunday, June 7.
Panic-stricken at the thought of having to cancel the event, she nearly had the door broken down, but a locksmith was found in time.
She said: “He arrived and straight away said, ‘I’m sorry, you’ve been glued’.
"Recoil Trampoline Club is a registered non-profit making charity that has over 400 members.
"We provide specialist trampoline coaching to members of the community in our unique facility that has nine full-sized trampolines sunken to floor level to make the sport not only safer but more accessible to the very young and those with disabilities.
"What kind of callous monsters would do such a thing?
“The only people that it would have affected would be our young competitors who worked so hard.
“Despite the best efforts of small minded individuals, everyone had a wonderful day and we raised more than £300 for the club by selling donated cakes and raffle tickets.
“It’s a pity the funds will have to go towards replacing the lock.”
