THE Alzheimer’s Society is calling on the public to sign up to their biggest fundraising event of the year, Memory Walk, taking place this autumn across the UK.

Brentwood Memory Walk on September 27 at beautiful Weald Country Park is an opportunity for everyone to come together, celebrate loved ones affected by dementia, and raise money to fund research and services for people living with the condition.

More than 20,000 people are living with dementia across Essex. Last year’s Brentwood event raised more than £22,000.

Megan Bailey, Community Fundraiser for Essex said: “Our Memory Walk last year showed the great community spirit that exists here in Brentwood. We hope people will be more determined than ever in signing up this year to raise vital funds for research and services for those affected by dementia.

Alzheimer’s Society provides a wide range of support across Essex, including Dementia Support Workers and Singing For The Brain Music Sessions, helping both carers and people with dementia.

Brentwood Memory Walk will take place around the beautiful Weald Country Park and is a great opportunity for people to come together, celebrate someone special, share their experiences and fight dementia.”
