A special Victorian evening will add a historical twist to Christmas celebrations in Ingatestone and Fryerning.

On Friday, December 4, the festive season kicks off with the 10th anniversary of the annual Victorian Evening, beginning with a horse drawn carriage pulling Father and Mother Christmas through Ingatestone High Street led by the town crier.

A live band will add to the festive feel of the evening, which will see stalls and street entertainers dressed in Victorian costume flood the streets.

Many of the shops, coffee shops and restaurants  will open for the evening and there will be lots of opportunities to buy Christmas gifts.

Billericay Round Table and Ingatestone Rotary club will also be helping out with festivities during the event.

The community club will be open for all to visit and also provides parking.

Saint Edmund and Saint Mary Church will be open offering tea and coffee, the coral society, Ingatestone junior school and the Anglo European school sing throughout the evening, with Reverend Patrick Sherring welcoming all.

All money donated during the Victorian Evening will be shared between three local charities; The Air Ambulance Service, Kids Inspired and Remus Horse Sanctuary.

To donate to these important charities look out for the collection boxes in the shops involved.
