A councillor has given her ward budget to the Brentwood children's literary festival.
Brentwood South Councillor Julie Morrissey has given her annual ward budget of £675 to the Brentwood Children's Literary Festival which is being hosted by Natasha and Jim Radford of the Chicken and Frog Bookshop.
The money will be spent on making sure that pupil's from Hogarth Primary School in Cllr. Morrissey's ward can attend the 2016 festival's many events due to be held for a week from July 22.
Cllr. Morrissey said: "Books are a very big part of my life and the Brentwood Children's Literary Festival will unlock the joy of reading for so many of our youngsters.
"That's why so its important to me that children from Hogarth School are given the opportunity to take part."
