Police want to hear from anyone with information about an unprovoked assault on two men in Brentwood.

The victims, aged 30 and 26, both from Brentwood, were set upon by a group of between five and eight men as they walked along William Hunter Way at around 3.40am on Saturday April 16.

Investigating officer, DC Darren Coote, said: "The attack happened close to the junction with Ongar Road and both victims were punched and kicked repeatedly.

"They both needed hospital treatment and it was subsequently established that the older victim had suffered a broken nose and cheekbone that will require further surgery to put right.

"This was an extremely vicious assault and I am keen to hear from anyone with information that could help.

"If you saw this attack or know anything about who did it please call me at Loughton CID on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
