A FANTASTIC day of fencing saw more than 50 Brentwood School students join 30 guests from other clubs, compete in the third Brentwood School Summer Fencing Tournament.

During the action packed day, children and young people clashed swords, with medals given out to the victors, with Brentwood School claiming an assortment of bronze, silver and gold.

Fencing Instructor Mr Chris Galesloot said: “It was a great team effort by the Brentwood School Fencing Team with many more of our athletes securing quarter final places.

“It was a great day.”

Seven pupils from the Brentwood Preparatory School fencing team also took part in last Saturday’s tournament.

One of their under 9 pupils claimed overall victory, while one student claimed bronze, despite it being his first ever tournament.
