A BIG band will take to the stage for one afternoon only in Brentwood next month, for a relaxing Sunday full of jazz.
The Melvin Beddow Big Band will appear at the Brentwood Theatre from 2.30pm on Sunday October 9.
Since performing at the Theatre last year, the band has been busy entertaining Essex with music.
Among their many events and private parties, they played to Southend's sold out Park Inn and the Chelmsford Football Club.
The band look forward to returning to the intimate setting of the Brentwood Theatre as this affords them the chance to not only perform some of the many big band greats and party favourites - which form the core of their repertoire - but also to indulge in a few more challenging and unusual feature pieces which showcase the various talents of the band.
Musical director Steve Robinson said:“As usual we’ve got a real mix of music, a great programme, and we’re looking forward to performing some new pieces that we have recently added to our music library.
“We’ll be playing something for everyone, a selection of traditional big band music like Glen Miller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie, along with some Latin, some vocals and a few special soloist features. We can’t wait.”
The Melvin Beddow Big Band is a 20-piece band based in Rayleigh. The current band was formed in 1991.
Tickets for the concert are £12 in advance (£10 for concessions) and available from the Brentwood Theatre box office on 01277 200305.
