The family of a woman who died in a tragic road accident last friday (September 26), have paid tribute to a "loving wife and mother."
Carole Paulson, 63, was killed after she was struck by a green jeep near to the Sawyers Hall Lane junction on Shenfield Road, Brentwood.
Carole of Chelmsford Road, Brentwood, was taken to Queen's Hospital, Romford, but later died.
Her family said in a statement: "Carole was a committed Christian who always put others before herself. She was a very special lady who will be a great loss to her two daughters Rachael and Sharon, husband Brian and many friends."
Carole was a member of Hutton and Shenfield Union Church for 40 years and she loved working with the children, singing in the choir, playing in the worship band as well as being a Deacon.
For many years she raised funds for the National Childrens Home (NCH) charity and as a collector for the poppy day appeal. She also spent 10 years working as a leader at Hutton Free Church Pre School.
A 51-year-old man from Chelmsford was arrested on suspicion of careless driving and has been bailed until October 29 while police continue with their investigation.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Chigwell Road Policing Unit on 01279 621804.
