YOUNG footballers can pick up top tips from a Premiership club’s coaching team as part of a new community programme.
Brentwood Council has teamed up with Chelsea Football Club’s community coaching team, and is launching free soccer training for youngsters aged between 12 and 19.
Through the sessions, to be held at Sawyers Hall College, in Sawyer's Hall Lane, organisers especially hope to reach out to Brentwood’s NEETs – teenagers not in education, employment or training.
Essex police and youth club, the Hermit, will also be helping run things, along with youth service teams from the council.
Council leader Cllr Louise McKinlay said: “These schemes have worked very well in other areas so we are expecting great things from the Brentwood project.”
