STUDENTS have been helping give an animal sanctuary a makeover.
Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, in Sawyers Hall Lane, Brentwood, is being given the spruce-up by 50 Havering College youngsters, who are training to become painters and decorators.
The students are painting stable blocks and fences, using donated materials, to get the sanctuary ready for its first fundraising event this year, on April 25.
Lianne Anglis, from the sanctuary, which homes more than 200 needy animals, said: “It is brilliant to have the students here. It’s going to be a professional job which will last longer.”
