A POPULAR Brentwood country show is offering free entry to visitors.

This year’s Weald Country Show, which takes place on Saturday, June 5, and Sunday, June 6, promises to be packed with activities and displays for all the family.

Brave visitors can get their adrenaline pumping by trying out the New Zealand craze, Zorbing, where people get into a giant ball, which is making its first appearance at the show.

There will also be exhibitions from the medieval siege society and Billericay Dog Display team will be wowing the audience with its canine tricks.

Stalls selling crafts and an array of food and drink will also be available.

Claire Mennim, site manager at Weald Country Park, explained what else was on offer. She said: “We’re trying a broader range of activities, from Zorbing and off-roading to the more traditional classic car shows and living history camps.

“I think the selection of things to see and do will make this year’s show extra special.”

Tracey Chapman, county councillor responsible for the environment, said: “The Weald Country Show is one of the highlights in Brentwood’s calendar and this year won’t cost a penny to attend.

“It promises to be a great day out for the whole family.”

Entry is free, but it costs £2 to park all day or £15 for a minibus or coach.
