ARSONISTS caused havoc for drivers on the A128 by starting grass fires.
Firefighters were called on Friday (July 23) at 10.30pm, after reports yobs had torched grass and shrubland close to the A128, near the Herongate turn-off.
The smoke was drifting on to the road, making it difficult for motorists to see.
Three fire engines put out the fires, which had spread to cover a four-acre area.
