Councillor calls for stronger police presence on estates
MORE police are required on the Three Arch and East Ham estates, according to a councillor.
Brentwood South councillor Mike Le-Surf has called for an increased police presence and a full-time officer to support the existing Police Community Support Officers in the area ahead of a police meeting at Maple Hall on May 20.
Labour councillor Mr Le-Surf believes that the High Street is taking away resources from outlying areas on evenings and weekends.
He said: "There is plenty of cash in the council's reserves to be able to invest in an increased police presence on the estates if it was deemed important. As with public transport issues, the Tory run county council is ignoring the needs of Brentwood South residents.
"A full time officer should be made available to support our PCSO and become a serious presence in the area."
