Sabuola brace gets Blues the win

BRENTWOOD TOWN 3 CHESHUNT 1
IN the build-up to the match Brentwood were hit by the transfer of their leading scorer Petrit Elbi to Aveley.
But they had also managed to recruit from Aveley centre back Luke Wilson who made an impressive debut.
Cheshunt dominated the opening 15 minutes and Josh Cooper put the Ambers ahead after seven minutes with a fierce drive off the underside of the bar.
It looked as though Brentwood were badly missing ten-goal Elbi who had been the architect of much of their best attacking football in the first part of the season, but the home side started the second half looking much more dangerous, with Mtyanda causing problems on both wings.
Blues introduced Jack Gardner as substitute and, with virtually his first touch, he set up the equaliser for Subuola in the 58th minute.
Subuola scored again seven minutes later and it was as good a goal as has been seen at the Arena for a long time. Subuola played a quick one-two with Mtyanda and hit a fine shot inside the post.
By now the Brentwood defence was looking more secure than it had for some weeks but the home side welcomed the comfort of a third goa, in the 83rd minute, when James Love secured the points, tapping in after Wilson won a header at the far post.
Cheshunt threatened to pull a goal back with a powerful drive from Will Holmes but Tim Pitman in the Blues goal produced a good save.
Brentwood’s first league win since August 13 moved them one place up the Ryman North table and they are unbeaten in their last three games.
Brentwood Town: Pitman, Dobbs (Seidu 84), Spurge, Stokes, Wilson, Mbulu, Bradley, Love, Subuola (Sonuga 90), Hariott (Gardner 55), Mtyanda.
