THERE was a big home win for Billericay A against Billericay Sports B with John Parodi and Gary Ward in super form and unbeaten, in the Premier Division.

Third man John Gagg picked up one win against Robert Kemp but was beaten by Keith Ashton and Mike Johnston. The final score was 8-2 to Billericay A. The bottom two teams clashed at Billericay Sports C with Buttsbury A snatching a draw due to the home team only fielding two players, in Chris Crooks and Joe Williams.

They were both beaten by Sue Hickman with Caroline Cole and Gary Carr failing to score in a 5-5 draw. Billericay Sports A almost gained a whitewash over Billericay B but leading 10/7 in the fifth end of the doubles, Keith Adams and Bruce Kettle allowed Paul Mulley and Neil Freeman back into the contest and only won one of the next seven points to lose 11/13.

Chris Jacob was also unbeaten for the home side with John Webber for the visitors also pointless in a 9-1 win for the home side. Ben Warner of Selex B also saved his side from a whitewash by defeating Jon Stokes in five ends in the final singles of the match against Selex A with Chris Aukett and Tim Pang scoreless against Paul Sayer and Chris Knight. The final score was 9-1 to Selex A.

In the first division, Brentwood B entertained Billericay Sports D and the home side enjoyed maximums from Bob Garson and Mary Nicholls with Colin Griffiths picking up one point by defeating Alf Fox.

Dave Kirston and John Darling recorded wins over Griffiths plus a doubles victory for a 7-3 home win for Brentwood B. There was a 5-5 draw for Mountnessing A against Billericay C, with new signing Robert Kneale and Mick Morris claiming two wins each and Dave Finlayson one against Stan Dyson (two wins), Reece Seddon (one win) and Brian Farmer (one win).

In the second division there was a 9-1 home win for Writtle B over Mountnessing C with Kevin Barber and Martin Goddard unbeaten and Anne Lockhart winning twice. She was denied her maximum by Paul Singleton.

The remaining away players, Alan Hart and Suzanne Shaw, failed to score. Joan Donovan and Roger Wilson were unbeaten for Mountnessing B in their home match with Buttsbury B and with Peter Hardiman scoring twice the home side were 8-2 winners against Louis Brown, who scored the visitors only singles win.

Ray Horton and Andrew Pepper picked up the doubles point.
