Brentwood Ladies’ struggle for consistency went on as they fell to a 5-2 defeat to St Albans in the rain.
A dismal first half display saw the side trail 5-1 at half time, with Lizzie Tyler’s goal the only first half moment to savour. However, in an improved second half, Charlotte Holt scored the only goal of the period, but the final score was 5-2.
Old Loughtonians lie in wait for Emily Wright’s side on Saturday.
The men’s First 11 also suffered a disappointing defeat at home to Crostyx, which saw their poor run extended.
At 4-0 down at half time, the men clawed their way back into the game with second half goals from Steven Naven and Henry Wollaston, but were unable to reduce the deficit further. Next week, they face bitter rivals Chelmsford
