BRENTWOOD School fencer Oscar Holt has been crowned British Under-12 Epee Champion.
Oscar parried his way to the winning rostrum at the National Finals in Sheffield.
To qualify for the National Finals, Oscar had performed brilliantly at the Eastern Region Youth Fencing Championships. He also won the Ashton Leon Paul Junior Series in the U12 Boys’ Epee category earlier in the year.
Coaches Chris Galesloot and James Thornton had taken 35 Brentwood fencers to the Eastern Region Youth Fencing Championships in March.
Gold medals were won by pupils Fred Brown, Eleanor Winand, Oscar Holt, Hannah Nelson and Matthew Russen. Catherine Child and Adam Jensen secured silver medals, and Bronze medals went to George Baxter, Fred Brown, Phillip Hawkins, Simon Henderson, Nisal Karunaratne, Petrok Laurence, Jessica Love and Sam Saunders.
