BRENTWOOD Town suffered last-minute FA Cup heartache when a 94th minute winner saved the blushes of Ryman Premier Division side Maidstone United.
The Blues fought bravely but fell agonisingly short against the Ryman League leaders as Jack Parkinson scored with almost the last touch of the game, sending Brentwood out in the second qualifying round.
The 1,464 in attendance at the Gallagher Stadium were left stunned when Robbie Rees put Brentwood ahead after just six minutes with a thunderous 25-yard strike, sparking wild celebrations from the visitors.
Brentwood’s lead didn’t last long though as Ben Greenhalgh equalised for the Stones in the 12th minute.
Brentwood worked tirelessly in the second half and they thought they had earned a replay, but with the final action of the match Parkinson headed in a corner to send Brentwood out of the competition and end their ten game unbeaten run.
