A GOAL in each half saw 10-man Brentwood Town edge past Brightlingsea Regent at The Arena.

Courtney White put the Blues ahead in the first half and Daryl Robson added a second with a speculative effort shortly after the break.

Ricky Griggs got a goal back for the R’s after the home side were reduced to ten men following Shad Ngandu’s red card, but Brentwood held on for the win.

The victory leaves Town fourth in Ryman Division One North and stretches their unbeaten league run to 11 games.

“All things considered, I think that’s a really good result today,” said joint-boss Adam Flanagan.

He added: “If we had stayed at 11 men, I felt we would have pulled away in the second half and maybe won the game relatively easily, but in saying that that’s not how it turned out and it was a tough game.

“But I’m happy, it’s another win at home and hopefully now we can continue doing that.”

The Blues’ next match comes on Tuesday against ninth-placed Ware at The Arena.
