BRENTWOOD School’s under-14 netballers lifted the Essex Cup and will now represent the county in the next round of the national competition in January.
Brentwood was one of 16 schools to qualify for the Essex round of the National Cup and took the county title after a closely contested final match against King John School, which they won by just two goals.
Brentwood’s determined girls were unbeaten in their pool, meeting Great Baddow in the semi and winning 15-4.
In the final, Brentwood were matched against a strong King John School, but their two-goal advantage was enough to make them Essex Cup champions.
Coach Wendy Juniper said: “The team were focused, determined, athletic, tenacious and well deserved winners.”
