ALTHOUGH neither qualified for the national final in any of the four races, Billericay, Brentwood Ursuline and Brentwood Schools all had outstanding individual performances in the English Schools’ Cross-Country Cup regional final at Hendon..
In the intermediate boys, where Billericay were sixth with 94 points, top performer was Alex Tyldsley who was eighth in 14 mins. 48 secs.
Other placings: 13, Andy Law (15.11); 31, Hamed Omidy (16.01); 44, Lawrence Mudford (16.29); 50, Jack Leggatt (17.41).
In the intermediate girls event, Brentwood Ursuline were fifth on 86 points with Billericay a place back and just three points in arrears.
Ursuline’s runners: 16, Amy Bragg (14.16); 21, Emma Jo Pereira (14.30); 22, Holly Thomas (14.30); 27, Patsy McWeeney (14.44); 43, Kate Karwacinski (15.35).
Billericay’s top runner was Basildon AC’s Emily Ballard, the 15-year-old who'd the week previously been the winner of the Waitrose under-21 female prize at Billericay Striders' 10K.
At Hendon she had a time of 13.31. Other Billericay finishers: 23, Lydia Mountford (14.32); 30, Ella Ray (14.55); 31, Rebecca Willis (14.59); 51, Lauren Pretty (15.54).
Brentwood School were eighth in the junior girls with the following runners: 15, Isabella Warren (10.45); 22, Christy Dailly (10.54); 31, Nicole McKechnie (11.03); 35, Abbey Chalmers (11.05); 43, Jessica Fazakerley (11.21).
