February date for 2009 Brit awards

The Brit Awards 2009 will take place on Wednesday February 18, it has been announced.
Award nominations will be announced on January 20, the UK recorded music industry association, the BPI said.
Last year's awards saw Sir Paul McCartney honoured for outstanding achievement, with Kate Nash beating Leona Lewis to the Best British Female title and producer Mark Ronson winning Best British Male.
Take That were double winners, scooping Best Live Act and Best Single for Shine. And the Arctic Monkeys won Best British Group and Best British Album for Favourite Worst Nightmare.
Ged Doherty, chairman of The Brits committee, said: "The Brits is the biggest night of music of the year and is a great showcase for the UK music industry.
"The success of last year's show gives us a great platform to now take it on to even greater heights."
The event at London's Earls Court Arena will be broadcast live on ITV.
The Critics Choice award focusing on new acts will return for a second year.
Last year it was won by Adele, who went on to achieve platinum status with her number one debut album 19.
