TV presenter Timmy Mallett will go head to head with former police chief Brian Paddick in a battle to remain on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The celebrities were expecting one of their number to leave the show on Saturday night, but instead learned that the two contestants bottom in the latest public vote must fight for their survival.

Announcing the new twist, presenter Ant McPartlin told the camp: "The fourth celebrity to be evicted ... is going to be evicted in a Bushtucker Trial."

Timmy and Brian looked nonplussed as they learned neither of them would leave on Saturday night, with Timmy commenting grimly: "That's hilarious."

The trial, The Last Chance Saloon, was set to take place after Saturday's show was aired with the loser forced to leave the camp immediately.

The jungle inhabitants do not yet know that the challenge will involve drinking a series of grotesque cocktails.

Earlier in the show, David Van Day cleared the camp of all Carly Zucker's possessions, commenting: "One gone, nine to go."

The former singer did not get on well with WAG and personal trainer Carly, who on Friday became the third celebrity to be ejected.

David was also caught up in the ongoing row over sleeping arrangements, which prompted Esther Rantzen to muse: "Isn't it funny how human beings seem to need a hierarchy.

"If we were at home would anyone clamber to sleep on the top of a double decker bus?"
