A RACEHORSE had to be put down after it was hit by a car.
The owner was driving a horsebox on the clockwise carriageway of the M25 when she pulled over to tend the horse, which was fretting.
As she opened the door of the horsebox it bolted on to the carriageway. It was hit by a car and suffered a broken leg.
Police closed the road between junction 29 for the A127 and junction 30 for Thurrock, between 10.20am and 12.35pm, on Wednesday while a vet put the animal down.
